I can't stop swooning over this warm yellow color. It's not quite as bright as your basic yellow, but I think it's a lovely alternative to metallic gold...or even ivory. Over the last couple of years we've seen small weddings become a growing trend. Especially smaller ceremonies with larger receptions. For those couples looking for a way to invite people to different events we've designed invitation sets with multiple pieces to mix and match for each specific guest.

This invite set includes a larger invite for the reception, a standard size rsvp, and two smaller invitations for guests who are invited to the more intimate ceremony and dinner.

This spring has brought exciting changes for us here at Izzy and the Bean Design. To start with we've moved! We have relocated out of Texas and are settling down in Nashville, TN. We can not wait to be a part of the Nashville wedding community, and are excited about the opportunities here...including our first wedding fair!

Our wedding invitation store is still located on Etsy, and because we ship using flat rate boxes all of our rates will stay the same. We have also created our Facebook page which will be updated with photos and information regularly. And of course you can follow us on Twitter!

Well, you can still call this a belly band right...I guess it goes the other way? :) In any case, Jenna and Craig added a lovely DIY touch to our Leanne wedding invitation by incorporating a ribbon and square monogram to match the invite. I love the bold, solid line the ribbon creates in contrast to the thin lines of the invitation design. We also designed a custom map of Nova Scotia to be included in the set.

Lindsey and Josh have been a fabulous couple to work with! We started about a year ago with a digital file for their save the dates to set the mood for the rest of the pieces. They knew they didn't want them to all be "matching," but definitely wanted pieces that fit together as a whole. We carried the delicate pink and green theme over into the wedding invitations, map, direction, and rsvp card. And we will soon be shipping the rehearsal dinner invitations to finish off the suite....photo coming soon. :)

In light of the recent earthquake in Haiti, the Etsy Wedding Team has gotten together and are running a fund raising event from January 29 2010 - February 12 2010. All items listed have been generously donated by various Etsy Wedding Team Members. And all of the proceeds from sales (less etsy and paypal fees) will be donated to The American Red Cross Haiti Relief. We are extremely proud to be a part of this team, and it's relief efforts. Louisa and Adam really like subway maps (and who could blame them?). In fact, they own a collection of them that Louisa gave Adam for Christmas last year. Inspired by the graphic elements commonly used in subway maps, they asked us to design for them a truly unique and personal wedding invitation.

This past winter we customized our Teresa wedding invitation for Erin and David to use as a save the date announcing their weekend long wedding celebration in central New York state. They chose to continue on the same theme once it became time to work on the rest of their wedding stationery, and we put together a color scheme of reds and oranges to be used interchangeably throughout the series.

These images include their invitation, rsvp, and information cards. As well as the images of the digital files for their table numbers, escort cards, and program covers, which they printed themselves. Congrats to you two again! I'm glad to hear the weekend (and weather) was fabulous!

bilingual wedding invitations - anita and nicholas

When Anita and Nicholas contacted us last winter about their wedding invitations they had an idea of what they were looking for. They needed to be able to include their wedding information in Chinese as well as English, and wanted a design symbolic of their heritage. With some help from friends we were able to gather the Chinese text while we worked on the design and what resulted is this double sided invitation set. Congrats again guys! :)

creating a custom logo for your wedding - jessica and luke

This past week we worked with Jessica and Luke, an adorable couple out in CA, to come up with a "logo" for their casual park wedding next spring. Jessica is an avid crafter (hence the yarn) and Luke plays golf. They wanted to meld the two into an image that they can apply to all of the different elements of their wedding stationery and decor. The top one is their final design...the other two were a couple of the other options. :)

We LOVE when couples send us images from their wedding of the pieces we designed for them! Especially when it's something that doesn't get put together until after it's shipped to them. Last August we worked with an awesome couple up in Canada on several of their stationery pieces (based on our Emily wedding invitation). For their wedding reception centerpieces we printed some vellum sheets to be used around the candle holders, and some little name tags that were tied around bundles of lavender and used as place cards. We also designed and printed their menus and name cards for their cookie bar (which I'm sure was delicious!). I've also included an image of the matching programs we designed and printed for them.

Jessica and Michael: Save the Date

When we first met Jessica and Michael they let us know they wanted to do something really modern and different for their wedding save the dates. They enjoy going to the zoo together, the look of artsy concert and zoo posters, and most specifically, penguins. The goal was to meld the three in a self mailing postcard design. :)

So since we were a tad bit slow on getting our blog up and running I've decided to start a series of entries "from the vault." This way we can share some of our favorite custom wedding invitation designs we've worked on in the past. :) So let's kick things off...

Brandi was one of the very first brides we met on Etsy. Her and Scott's spring time wedding is themed with paisley in shades of pinks and blues. Printed on linen cardstock, these save the dates were sent out as postcards.

When Emy and Taylor accepted our wedding invitation bid on Etsy's Alchemy we were really excited to get started. They let us know that they were interested in something bright, bold, and non-traditional. And that their wedding is going to be themed with asiatic lilies and oranges/tangerines/clementines.
